Talen Energy Plans Brief Maintenance Outage of Unit 2 Reactor at Susquehanna Plant in Pennsylvania
Talen Energy (NYSE:TLN) said Monday that it plans to take a brief maintenance outage on unit 2 of its Susquehanna nuclear power plant in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania within the next few weeks. Susquehanna has been working with the manufacturer of the main steam turbines for both units at the plant to address issues associated with the formation of small cracks in the metal blades. Recently, the company identified an indication of crack development on one blade of unit 2 turbine where modifications have not yet been completed.
