EDF RE brings 50-MW wind farm online in New Mexico
January 29 (SeeNews) – EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) has flipped the switch on the 49.65-MW Milo wind project in New Mexico.
The company, a subsidiary of France’s EDF Energies Nouvelles, said on Thursday that the wind farm started commercial operation on January 21, a year after construction began on its 25 turbines.
The facility is located in Roosevelt County and will produce enough electricity to meet the needs of 27,400 average New Mexico homes, the developer calculates. Its output is committed into the Real-Time market in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) Regional Transmission Organization (RTO).
The wind farm uses turbines supplied by Vestas.
