Duke’s 1,305-MW McGuire-2 nuclear power reactor in North Carolina prepares for outage
Duke Energy’s 1,305-MW McGuire-2 nuclear reactor near Charlotte, North Carolina, is operating at reduced output in preparation for a refueling outage, plant spokeswoman Christine Pulley said Monday.
McGuire was operating at 97% early Monday, down from 98% early Saturday and Sunday, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission said in its daily reactor status reports.
Pulley declined to say when the reactor would shut for the outage.
