Former KGB agent Jack Barsky no longer at NYISO
Jack Barsky, the IT specialist for the New York Independent System Operator in North Greenbush who admitted on “60 Minutes” that he had been a KGB spy for the Soviet Union, has left the organization, which oversees the state’s high-voltage electrical grid.
“Jack Barsky is no longer employed at the NYISO,” NYISO spokesman David Flanagan told the Times Union Tuesday.
News of Barsky’s departure comes as the NYISO said it hired Douglas Chapman as its chief information officer to lead its IT department.
Barsky, 70, had been put on leave since his interview with “60 Minutes” aired in May.
Barsky’s LinkedIn page now says lists him as a “IT executive & public speaker.”
