Xcel Energy, Simple Energy offer smart thermostats and rebates online
Xcel Energy Inc. and Boulder-based Simple Energy Inc. are teaming up to make it easier and quicker for residential customers in Colorado to get $50 rebates for new, “smart” thermostats.
Xcel on Monday announced the launch of the new “XcelEnergyStore.com,” a pilot online store that offers six programmable thermostats, at prices ranging from $115 to $250. Customers who use the online store to buy the thermostats get an automatic $50 rebate and free shipping.
The store was launched with Simple Energy, a Boulder company that’s partnering with utilities nationwide to set up online systems to share information and access to energy conservation devices or other items, such as solar power panels.
