AUSTIN — Texas residents are being asked to conserve energy during peak hours for electricity demand on Thursday.
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) says users should cut back on electricity between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. if possible.
This week alone, the demand for electricity from Texas’ power grid has reached July records — breaking 67,000 megawatts for the first time in four years. Demand peaked at 67,590 megawatts this week.
