Telensa Passes 9 Million Internet of Things Device Milestone
CAMBRIDGE, England–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Telensa, which provides end-to-end solutions to turn the Internet of Things (IoT) into real-world revenue streams, has announced that 9 million devices using its Ultra Narrow Band (UNB) long-range, low-power wide-area (LPWA) radio technology have been deployed. This milestone was met as part of the rollout of one of Telensa’s smart city systems in Asia. The company’s technology is now deployed around the world in 30 countries including; the US, UK, Brazil, Australia, China and Russia, enabling a range of applications such as device tracking, smart parking and smart lighting.
Having pioneered the LPWA space, Telensa has been instrumental in driving standards for applications and network technology. The company’s technology is proven in huge scale deployments with many live networks each serving tens or hundreds of thousands of devices. As well as proven scalability, Telensa’s technology provides the longest battery life in the market with up to a year from a single coin sized battery, over 20 times longer than the nearest competitor.
Telensa is leading the parking and lighting markets with PARKet, one of the world’s most widely deployed parking bay-sensor solutions, and PLANet, which controls intelligent street lighting. PARKet is helping to reduce congestion and improve parking occupancy in city centres by directing drivers to the nearest available bays. It is deployed in Moscow, in the largest parking monitoring system in the world, where congestion has been cut by over a quarter since installation.
