ERCOT: Valley needs to conserve energy through Friday
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), grid operator for most of Texas, is asking residents in the Rio Grande Valley to limit or reduce the use of electricity especially during the 3-7 p.m. peak demand hours, today through Friday.
“Due to some unplanned generating unit outages, together with early summer high demand for electricity, we expect to need help from consumers to help maintain system reliability in the Valley area for the remainder of this week,” said Dan Woodfin, ERCOT director of System Operations.
