Walmart signs supply deal with Akuo Energy
According to Akuo, Walmart has agreed to buy power produced from 50MW of the 150MW Rocksprings project in south Texas for 12 years.
The project has expected commissioning date in the third quarter of 2016. No turbine purchase agreement has yet been made.
Retail giant Walmart is aiming to source 100% of its power from renewable energy sources by 2020. The company also has a PPA with Pattern Energy for 60% of the power produced at the 200MW Logan’s Gap project, also in Texas.
