PJM’s results in 2014 were competitive only due to mitigation: analyst
While the PJM independent market monitor said the wholesale energy and capacity markets produced competitive results in 2014, it was only competitive after steps were taken to mitigate certain issues, Paul Patterson, an analyst with Glenrock Associates, said Monday.
“It is a contrived market,” Patterson said.
The aggregate energy market was competitive but the local market was not, according to the market monitor’s 2014 State of the Market report for PJM, which was published Thursday.
