NY Prize competition promotes building of community-based microgrids
ALBANY >> New York state is encouraging community-based microgrids through NY Prize, a $40 million first-of-its-kind competition announced by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The competition was discussed at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at SUNY Poly last week.
“This is to promote clean energy,” said Gil Quiniones, president and CEO of the New York Power Authority. He spoke to a group of nearly 100 people including state energy leaders and business owners as part of a Winter Energy Tour.
